Sanikiluaq (ᓴᓂᑭᓗᐊᖅ) is a small Inuit hamlet located on the north coast of Flaherty Island in Hudson Bay, on the Belcher Islands, in the Qikiqtaaluk Region of Nunavut, Canada. It is famous for the rare and equally beautiful grey stone which Inuit artists use to carve their creations. Inuit artist Peter Iqaluk hails from this region. Peter was born February 8th, 1959 and started carving about 25 years ago. This piece speaks for itself with it's unmatched beauty and originality.
