This beautiful sculpture was masterfully carved by local Inuit artist Mosesie Ipeelie of Iqaluit, Nunavut.  This particular carving depicts an Inuit woman in traditional dress kneeling down.  The woman is wearing and amauti which is an Inuit parka with a very large hood used to carry their children around.  The face of the sculpture is made with caribou antler which makes the woman almost lifelike.   Mosesie Ipeelie's work has sold all over the world and is coveted by art galleries and collectors alike.
